Listen to the Sound
Faith. This is something with which I greatly struggle. I am not proud to say, but I indeed have a very difficult time trusting and believing. Even when I've seen all I need to see to know that my fears are lies, I still fall into the pit of disbelief and discouragement. I'll call out to the Lord for help with all my fear, and it seems to be better, but how long will the peace stay? How long will my wandering mind be content? The never-ending question, "What if?" haunts my thoughts. I become enveloped in filthy worries. Where's the freedom now? Where is all this freedom I write about? In the middle of the storm it's hardest to see all I've written to be true. When I least expect it the enemy thrusts his dirty tricks towards me. I'm fed up with him thinking he has dominion over me! It is written that in the name of Jesus every knee must bow, even the demons cannot stand!
So next time I'm faced with fear (because we all know there's going to be a next time), I must remember what Jesus did for us all. He took away the enemy's dominion! When that voice tells you it has power over you, laugh at it. Tell that voice to leave you alone in Jesus's name, because you know what's true. Fear is a lie, and death has been defeated. In the midst of these battles, we are not fighting for victory, because we have already won! Jesus made us victorious, so we are free! John 8:36 says, "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
I will no longer listen to what the enemy tells me, because I am certain that everything he says is a lie. He is not on my side in any way! It is written.
One of the most powerful and eye-opening verses ,in my opinion, is John 10:10. It starts like this, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy." Sounds like what you've been hearing? Me too. But! That is not the end of the story! The verse continues on to say, "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." Now that sounds much, much better, agree?
You see, Jesus is on our side! Jesus came to set captives free! Jesus came to be our Friend, Healer, and our Lord. Remember that He will never leave us nor forsake us. "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6) Go in peace, the Lord is with you.
