The One True Promised Gift

We endure this race with the steadfast assurance of the joy that awaits us at the finish line. We strive not to find a purpose, but to live for His purpose. When He strengthens us we do not grow weary, because His provision is perfect. His forgiveness is flawless, because where sin is deep His grace abound more, and His grace is sufficient. He is all. He is all we need, all we hunger, and when the end is come, He is all we have. He is our joy.

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

God fills us with all joy and peace when we thrust away our fearful habits and start living a faith-filled life. If you're wondering why the people around you seem so happy, but you are just so not, it may be that you are still holding onto your doubts and worries with white knuckles. God doesn't wan't you living like that. He doesn't like seeing you dangling from the rotting rope of hopeless anxiety. Jesus paid for your freedom, so start living like you are liberated!

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)

The New Life Version calls him "the robber". This tells us that the devil busts into our lives and tries to take what is ours. That's right, it's already rightfully ours. Jesus purchased for us Joy, peace, abundant life, and a full and blessed life. Satan has absolutely no business coming in and wrecking our peace!

"The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven" (Hebrews 1:3)

God's glory and goodness and wisdom and splendor rests in Christ Jesus. He sits on His throne in Heaven, and He loves us.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ," (Ephesians 1:3)

We are blessed by Jesus and with Jesus. He has freely given us abundant and eternal life, but more than that we have fellowship with Him. One day we'll meet face to face, and in that moment His beauty and magnificence will be right before us. His goodness and graciousness will finally be tangible, and we'll feel His scars. We'll see with our own two eyes the evidence of His marvelous mercy, and into His all powerful arms we will fall.

You see, the Son not only gave us these aforementioned gifts, but Christ is the ultimate gift. He himself is the promised and anointed One, the One who cares for us and loves us and never let's us go. He will forever be the only One that satisfies, heals, restores, and cleanses us of unrighteousness. Praise be to the Father and the Son!
