Made Righteous

Heavy laden? Schlepping shame? Come to the Throne. Cast that burden off, and the Lord shall, what? Sustain you! He is faithful and He will sustain you. It is written!

"Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." (Psalms 55:22)

He won't let the righteous be moved, but what about the sinners? What about those who are ashamed? What about the people who are lost, fallen, and hungry? What about those people? Is there no hope for those people? Is this that the way it ends? A burdensome and futile life?

Surely not! There is always hope! I like to say it like this- there's always hope, because Jesus is alive! Jesus's offering, the ultimate and final sacrifice, never loses it's potency.

So now where do they go? What do the fallen kids do? Confess, repent, run, and live. Confess that you are indeed a fallen kid. Repent that what you've been doing is wrong. Run into the arms of our loving Father, the God of comfort. And finally, live abundantly.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

Look at that there! If we confess, He is faithful to cleanse us of the unrighteousness. What then, does that make us? God removes the un from the unrighteousness, therefore making us into His righteousness!

"For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:19)

Now let's go back to the first verse. Now that the un is out of unrighteous - making us righteous through the Blood of Jesus - we can take our remaining burdens, because there are always troubles on this earth, to the Lord.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Be of good cheer, because Jesus has overcome. Be of good cheer, because God will sustain you. He never permits the righteous - that is us, His cherished children - to be moved.

He is faithful, He is just, and He is able to sustain you. He cleanses the unrighteous and transforms them to be made into the righteousness of God through the Blood of His perfect and spotless Lamb.

We are sinners, but Jesus removes our iniquities as far as the east is from the west. We are weak, but God sustains us with His mighty hand. We are easily shaken on our own, but God never allows His righteous kids to be moved. Take. Heart. There is hope.
