Rise Up and Pray : " At last he stood up again and returned to the disciples, only to find them asleep, exhausted from grief. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.” " (Luke 22:45-46) Don't give in to all the grief . Rise up and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit! Don't become so worn and weary from the battles surrounding you that you throw in the towel and call it quits. Instead,  call on God ! Pray relentlessly because He's not left your side. His ear is still tuned to your cry.  He's not going to stop fighting for you . Be still, call upon His Name, then you will receive peace, joy, and a renewed hope once again. Jesus - Δουλος - Humble Servant : " You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead,  he gave up his divine privileges ; he took the  humble position of a slave  and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,  he humbled himself in obedience to God  and died a criminal’s death on a cross. " (Philippians 2:5-8) I love how the Holy Spirit kept the theme of Pastor Spurling's message at Gateway Church this weekend. I opened up my MacBook to see this...  Jesus Christ ...  Humble Servant . The Greek word written here is δουλος and it is translated " slave " in the verse above. How marvellous! Jesus took on the humble position of a slave so that we might become free. In fact, right now as I type, I'm wearing my Walk in Love shirt that reads:  I AM SET FREE . Thank You, Jesus! Thank You for Your obedience even to death on the Cross. Because of...

Selah Saturday - Psalms 145 : " For your kingdom is an  everlasting kingdom . You rule throughout all generations.  The LORD always keeps his promises ; he is gracious in all he does. The LORD helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it. When you open your hand,  you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing . The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.  The LORD is close to all  who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth ." (Psalms 145:13-18) For all You've done this week, my Lord, I will pause and reflect...  Selah ... How gracious You've been. Oh how Your kind Heart has been revealed to me.  Your generous Spirit overwhelms me . I am in awe. You're so good, my God. You're so good, and  I praise You with all that I am . I will worship You for all that You are... You are the merciful, righteous, and gloriou...

#JOY . Joy that can't be explained must be shared, and can't be contained. When I trust in His heart, His love gives me a new start. His promises will hold true; He is making all things new. JOY. Walk in Obedience and Trust : " The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands ." (Psalms 25:10) When I obey God, it not only unlocks  immense blessings , but it's also a way for me to put my deep love for Him into action. Meaning, I don't just merely speak the words, " I love God and I will trust Him wholeheartedly " and then continue on living in my disabling doubts and fear. Think about this...  Perfect love casts out fear ... Is it possible that as we journey closer and closer to that perfected state in the Heavens, our love for God and for others is made more and more perfect like the love of Christ? And as  our love is in the process of being transformed and perfected , the fears that once controlled us are now being cast out left and right. Why? Worry Not! God Has a Plan : " I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. " (John 14:27) God will lead me step-by-step into a future more spectacular than I can even begin to dream. He's never given up on me, and He won't start now. Each day is a new beginning. God guides me  one day at a time . I needn't worry about future events or possibilities. God is taking me on a joy-filled journey into new and incredibly exciting places. " Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert ." (Isaiah 43:19) I look forward to what the future holds, but I don't anxiously look for what it is that may be - in  an attempt to gain control over the unknown .
