This Struggle

   Sometimes I think, "Will this battle ever end?" Everyday seems to get harder. I know the truth. The truth is I don't have to put up a fight. I already have victory in Jesus Christ, but it's easy to get caught up in the mess of things and start to feel hopeless.

   Everyday I struggle to keep faith. I understand your pain, and so does Jesus. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalms 34:18)

   Let us not forget that Jesus was fully human, so He experienced everything that we experience. "Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." (Hebrews 2:18)

   Being tempted varies from one to another. The enemy knows where we struggle, so that is where he attacks us. He attacks when we are weak.

   The enemy doesn't use the same tactics on everyone. If that were the case, it would be easy to resist him. But, it's not. The enemy tailors his lies to fit our weaknesses. Not so simple to resist.

   Here's the good part. We are small and feeble, but God is strong and powerful! Therefore, we can't defeat the enemy ourselves, God does all the work! We can't overcome the lies on our own. It is through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that we receive our strength and are victorious.

   "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
