Never Fades Away

Νever Fades Away:

"In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:4-5)

"His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God." (Revelation 19:12-13)

Jesus is the One, for in Him is the light of life. This word "light" is the word φῶς (phōs) in the original Greek language. This noun is literally used for light, (firelight, starlight, brightness, etc.) and it also is used of any thing that gives out or shines forth with light.

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5)

Because God is of utmost purity and righteousness, He radiates brighter than the sun itself. Like a star shimmering in the deep dark night sky, so shines the Lord in all of His brilliant beauty and divinity.

The word φῶς is also used of the infallible qualities of the Holy Spirit. His wisdom and truth exquisitely exude purity with pristine poise. This is the immaculate illumination of the Spirit of God.

I love the passage in Revelation 21 which speaks of the New Jerusalem. This is a perfect example of the radiance of God and the light of Jesus!

"The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light." (Revelation 21:23)

This verse says that the Glory of God is what illuminates the city. This word "illuminated" is quite similar to φῶς. It is the Greek verb φωτίζω (phōtízō).

This word can mean to implement spiritual knowledge in the form of enlightenment. Can you see how these incredible words tie all together to bring glorification to the amazing God we serve?

"The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendour into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there." (Revelation 21:24-25)

All splendour in the this world will be cast down at the feet of Christ the Lord, for He alone is deserving of all honour and praise.

The nations will walk in the φῶς of God, and be enveloped in the pureness of His divine shining light. All of the Holy Spirit's illuminating wisdom (φωτίζω) shall abound to the inhabitants of the city.

There is no night, because the magnificence of God's glory cannot be burnt out. His goodness and graciousness shall shine on the city forevermore. He makes His lovely, loving Light shine upon us!

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-26)

The Light of the Lord blesses His people. The Light radiates healing to the afflicted. The Light comforts the anxious, and gives rest to the restless. Abide in the Light and you'll discover genuine joy, never ceasing peace, and abundant blessings flowing right from the heart of God.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17)

He never changes, and His phenomenal φῶς (Heavenly Light) never fades away! Bring all that you have to Him and He shall make it incredible. We serve an amazingly gracious and glorious God! Walk in His unending Light today beloveds.
