Let Light Shine

Let Light Shine:

"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you." (Isaiah 60:1-2)

There's a whole lot of darkness in this world, and unfortunately, many people live their everyday lives completely covered in such dismal darkness. This saddens God's heart, because He longs for us to all live in the pure joy and freedom of Salvation in Christ.

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Repentance is what breaks bondages and looses the chains of sin from our backs. The Lord delights in the melodious sounds of these chains striking the ground, as a chime ringing in the symphony of Heaven's Angel choir. Our repentant surrender makes music for the ears of our compassionate Saviour. Let them fall, child, let those chains slip off.

"...those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness (to uprightness and right standing with God) [shall give forth light] like the stars forever and ever." (Daniel 12:3 AMP)

God has given us all a mission, and with many various gifts and talents, He's designed us to carry it out in a unique way. One thing is for sure, in all that we do, we are called to shine the Light that the Holy Spirit radiates within our hearts.

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16)

When we uncover this blazing fire-light that burns so vigorously in our hearts, the light cannot be hidden. Those who are lost in darkness will begin to see an illumination that beckons them out into the Light.

"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)

When we walk in the Light of Christ, we are cleansed of unrighteousness, and therefore brought nearer to God. When in the Presence of the Lord, we are ever increasing our fellowship with Him, and thereby continually transformed to be more like Him and the beauty of His glory.

"And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him." (2 Corinthians 3:18 MSG)

When we become more like Him, the Light shines even brighter each and every day. His grace has been freely given to us all for redemption, restoration, and representation. He redeemed us from utter destruction. He restored our bruised and batter hearts. Lastly, we represent Him to the lost people in this world, for He has given us a new title: Ambassador of the Holy King of kings.

"For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." (2 Corinthians 4:6-7)

This wondrous renewal that God has performed in our lives was not brought about through our own strength or goodness, but by God's might and grace. By His pure and genuine love, He has ignited a new passion in us. This burning passion from the Holy Spirit is what shines so brightly into the places that are so shrouded in darkness.

"Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”" (John 8:12)

Our illuminated hearts proclaim John 8:12 boldly. We declare that it's Jesus who is the Light of the world. We are not of our own glory but of His. We're not the ones the people need to follow, but we say, "Follow Him, Christ the Lord!" We once walked in darkness too, but now we've been reconciled as sons and daughters of the Lord. Come to Him, and He will give you His Light.

Are dismal, grey clouds cowering over you today? Are you searching for something more? Feeling empty and alone? Come to the Father! He longs for your repentance. Why? Because when we repent, that's when He can renew and reawaken our cold dead hearts.

So why not surrender your fragile heart to His hands of healing today? He can mend the broken pieces. He can revive your life, and set you on a path of peace.

Let the Holy Spirit transfigure your brokenness. Remember that He is for us and not against us. When He rekindles your life, it starts a chain reaction. You begin to shine with His Heavenly exuberance, and all those around can feel the merriment too. Lives change for the better when you yield to God's candle-lighting. May peace, love, and joy surround you today my friends. Go and shine the Light of Christ!
