Truly Joyful and Abundant Life in Christ
Truly Joyful and Abundant Life in Christ:
"And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires." (2 Peter 1:4)
Often times the enemy tries to tempt us, deceiving us by luring us into what he propagandizes as fun. When in reality, what he's forcing down our throats is not at all beneficial or enjoyable to our souls or the wellbeing of our hearts. What the enemy promotes as so fanatically great and desirable is actually poison for our spirits that ends in eventual demise.
When in the thick of a battle, such as temptation, it's imperative to have a Scriptural Sword with which to slay the adversary. Take Second Peter 1:4, written above, for example.
In this verse, we can see, plain as day, that God has indeed planned great and precious promises for our lives. Want to know another fantastic benefit of partaking in God's divine nature?
When we deny our fleshly lusts or human desires and say yes to all the glorious goodness that is found only in God the Father, we get to experience the true fullness of joy and love right here and now.
"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there." (Galatians 5:24)
Now there's even more than that. We're also blessed with the promise of life beyond this crippled world. We are heirs of an eternal abundant life!
"They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures." (Psalms 36:8)
Real, delightful fun that brings forth joy and uncontainable laughter blossoms from fellowship with the Father. This is the only kind of fun that actually feeds our hungry souls and stores up an eternal inheritance of unending, joyful exuberance.
"You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures." (Psalms 16:11)
This is the incorruptible goodness found only in our Lord.
Don't forsake His great gift of eternal pleasure for the trap of momentary carnal gratification.
He so desperately wants us to come to Him and receive this gift of truly revitalizing gladness and peace. Can you feel His tug on your heart now? Come receive His goodness with open hands and a thankful heart. He's inviting you in with outstretched arms and a warm embrace.
