Jesus - Δουλος - Humble Servant : " You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead,  he gave up his divine privileges ; he took the  humble position of a slave  and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,  he humbled himself in obedience to God  and died a criminal’s death on a cross. " (Philippians 2:5-8) I love how the Holy Spirit kept the theme of Pastor Spurling's message at Gateway Church this weekend. I opened up my MacBook to see this...  Jesus Christ ...  Humble Servant . The Greek word written here is δουλος and it is translated " slave " in the verse above. How marvellous! Jesus took on the humble position of a slave so that we might become free. Your Perfect Love Displaces Fear : Love. At the very core of my being, Lord, may Your matchless love be planted in my soul. May the roots of Your truth extend down into the soil, deeper and deeper,  penetrating any strongholds of doubt or distress . May Your love begin to  displace distrust ,  annihilate anxiety , and restore to me a renewed sense of  faithful courage . Help me to know the truth that You are the Lord of Love, not of confusion and deceit.  You're not trying to lure me into believing false realities . Thy Will Be Done : " For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them ." (Matthew 18:20) May the cry of our  united hearts  resound in this place today.
