Conversing with the Creator

Conversing with the Creator:

"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." (Jeremiah 33:3)

What a privilege prayer is. What a gift to be able to approach the Lord's throne with boldness and confidence. Prayer is a marvellous mystery, yet a splendid blessing.

"Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving" (Colossians 4:2)

Prayer is more than just a cry for help or plea for mercy. Prayer is also an opportunity to pour out your heart on God. Let the abundance of gratitude in your heart overflow at His throne.

"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." (Luke 18:1)

"Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King." (Psalms 149:1-2)

Prayer regenerates hope, peace, and abounding joy. Jesus desires to simply speak to us as friends, personally and intimately. Anyone and everyone is invited by God into the peaceful path of a prayer-filled life.

One of the greatest wonders contained in prayer is that we as creation are blessed with talking directly with our Creator. You see, prayer is so much more than just asking for help or favours. Prayer is about conversation, not consultation.

God wants to chat with you! Yes, the Lord of lords wants to talk directly to you! He wants to know about the things you enjoy, He wants to hear about all the little delights you've seen in the course of a day, and He simply wants to hear the lovely melody of your unique heart song.

Next time you're feeling lonely, look up! God has pulled up a seat prepared just for you, and He's exuberantly awaiting a delightful discussion with His child. Don't be afraid to approach Him as a friend either, for He has called us His very own friends!

"I do not call you slaves anymore, because a slave doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father." (John 15:15)

Oh, Father, we praise You! We come into Your Presence this day with joy and gratitude in our hearts. We're confident that when we pray to You, You hear every word. You don't just listen for our cries of desperation or our pleas for provision, You love to hear about even the things we enjoy. You rejoice in the little gems we've noticed that You placed throughout the day, and so much more.

What a blessing it is to serve a merciful, yet personal God! Hallelu Yah! Let us pray and exult our God this day! Amen!

God's Love is Enough

God's Love is Enough:

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." (John 15:13)

There is no greater love than the love of our Lord. Nothing compares to His love, and nothing satisfies like His love. His love is all we need. His love has covered over all our filth, and has set us free. His love has made us clean, and now we are called redeemed.

"Above all, maintain an intense love for each other, since love covers a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8)

This Sabbath day I'm breathing a sigh of resting rejoicing, knowing that His love has paved the way. No matter how far we may stray, He will never ever betray. Oh the glorious joy of knowing this freedom! Oh the comfort in calling on Your love, O God!

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs." (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)

His love is more than enough for me. His love is covering over me this day, and everyday His love shall be wrapped around me. His love is all we need. His love meets us in our needs and rescues us from all dangers. His love makes all things new, and His love restores me and you.

On this Sabbath Sunday, this sacred day of rest, let's let out a shout of praise and thanks. This very day, and every day to come, God's love is for us. God's love provides, guides, blesses, and forgives. His love is all we could ever ask and more.

Hallelujah! What a grand truth we have to celebrate! His love has made all things right, and His love has made us His own righteousness. We are forever set free, and it's all thanks to Your love, O Heavenly Father!

Salvation is a Symphony

Salvation is a Symphony:

Slow down, and listen to the rhythm of God's heart. It beats to the tempo of never ending grace. Sometimes it's hard to hear, because the racket of the world clamours so deafeningly. But when you slow down to truly feel the notes dancing over your heart strings, peace and joy rain in glorious harmony.

"The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

I found myself wondering today, if people who are recurrently down and depressed have tried listening to music to help alleviate the haze of sorrows. Of course, the number one best and only true way to become forever freed from depression or anxiety is to give it all to God - our Heavenly Father and great Healer.

There are some factors that bring some extra joy though, such as music. Whenever I turn on some praise and worship, immediately my spirits are uplifted and I'm drawn closer into the Presence of the Lord as my soul sings songs of exaltation to my God.

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name." (Psalms 100:4)

See, it's written that the corridor into His courts is covered in praises and thanksgiving. Also, above in Zephaniah 3:17, we see that the Lord rejoices over us with singing. He sings over us!

I really believe that depression results from a deafening, a deafening to the melody of our marvellous Maker's song. Now, God never stops singing over us. Rather, it's the darkness of this world that clogs up our ears and silences the serene sound of our Sovereign Lord's song.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (Colossians 3:16)

When we accept Jesus into our hearts as our Lord and Saviour, He brings a brand new song of joy and peace into our lives. Sorrowful living stops when the Saviour orchestrates His symphony of salvation.

Next time you're feeling down, turn on some praise and let your spirit sing a song of worship to the Lord. Before you know it, He shall come and restore to you peace, joy, and hope. Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord our God! He is good! Sing songs of adoration to our Father! Amen!

You Are Strong

You are Strong:

"So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength)." (2 Corinthians 12:10)

This world is thoroughly saturated with consternating afflictions. Often times I find myself breaking under the unbearable weight of such burdens. My own human strength is futile, but the divinely glorious strength of my Lord is more than sufficient for every need.

"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

When I surrender my inadequacy, God miraculously takes over and carries every one of my troubles for me. On my own, you see, I am destined for tragedy. The worries that deepen in my mind leave hopes of joy far behind.

"Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3)

We lift up our cares to the Father. We give Him praise and thanksgiving, for by His marvellous mercy, He has given us a living hope. When the fearful factors of this fallen world pressure us, we need not give in to woeful worrying. Instead, let us lift up our eyes, and see the God of love and grace above.

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

Here's the truth we all need to know: though we are weak and easily burdened by the dismays of this life, the Lord's strength is more than enough for us. When burdens and fears threaten, all we must do is lift our hands to the Father and cry out, "I am incapable of carrying all this stress. Lord, come and lift this crushing weight off of my shoulders."

He hears our every cry, and He sees our every tear. The good news is that not a single one of our fears is too terrifying for our mighty, strong God to handle. Nothing is impossible or too difficult for Him!

"For with God nothing will be impossible." (Luke 1:37)

"Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You." (Jeremiah 32:17)

Oh how freeing it is to be confident in the mighty strength of God our Father! No matter how crushing our cares may be, the strength of our Heavenly Father far outweighs fear's empty intimidations! Hallelujah! You are strong, Lord!

No Fear in Love

No Fear in Love:

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18)

God's perfect love wipes away our every fear and every tear. When fear strikes our hearts and penetrates our thoughts, it causes us to doubt His love. We may wonder inside, "Does God really love me? Is there any way He will forgive me, even after how badly I've messed up? Can God pull me out of a pit this deep and defiled?"

Of course! Not only does He possess the strength to pull us out of our messes, but He longs to do so! Nothing, and that means absolutely nothing, could ever separate us from His unfailing love. It doesn't matter what we've done or how many times we've done it, God's patient and persistent love continues steadfastly.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

No defying forces have the dominion to destroy the powerful love-bond with which the Lord has secured us. If not even death itself could sever the ties of His perfect love, then should nasty old fear cause us to tremble or shake? No! We refuse to be shaken by fear's empty threats!

"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." (Psalm 55:22)

His perfect love has no ends or restraints. He goes to great and immeasurable distances to console us, forgive us, and favour us. His mercy makes our hearts whole, and His graces supplies the courage we need to abandon our fears.

God has spoken His promises over us, and this includes His promise of perfect patience and love. Therefore, when little worries show up and we feel as though they're too silly for God to care or do anything, think again. In fact, it's every single detail in our lives - big and small - that touches the very heart of God.

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." (Luke 12:7)

He feeds the birds, and He even knows precisely how many grains of sand occupy the shores of the sea. What has made us doubt His divine devotion towards us? Fear.

Fear drives a wedge, a painfully brutal and unwanted wedge, in the centre of our intimacy with Christ the Lord. Fear attempts to destroy the loving, trusting relationship we have with God. Fear's mission is to slaughter our dependence on God, steal our joyous abundance from God, and ultimately separate us from God altogether. Fear has only impure motives.

God, on the other hand, has a much different plan. God extends His hands of mercy towards us, floods us in forgiveness, and lavishes us in His perfect love. There are no conditions or prerequisites needed to receive His love; there's only gracious goodness and peaceful patience. The Lord is our Good Shepherd, and His mission is founded on His marvellous mercy.

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

Fear has to leave, because in this very moment, God's love is invading. God's perfectly spotless love is seeping into the broken cracks of our lives and healing every one of our hurts. His love is not constrained to our own level of uprightness, for now we have been justified freely by the atoning sacrifice of the Blood of the Lamb.

"Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath." (Romans 5:9)

Our God does not condemn us, neither will He ever shame us. Instead, when He looks down on our poor, fallen condition, He sees an opportunity for grace upon grace to come in and rescue and renew us. His goodness and graciousness, through the power of His perfect love, make all things new. He completely renovates the old, sinful self.

The Lord's perfect love alone is enough to drive fear back to his hollows of darkness. When we receive the Holy Spirit, nothing hinders that powerful love from multiplying within our very own hearts. The expansive nature of God's exquisite love leaves no room for fear whatsoever!

Hallelujah! We are free! We are free from the maniacal snares of fear and all his threats. Our peace is securely anchored in the truth of God's unending love and mercy. Goodbye forever fear, for the Lord my God - whose love for me is eternal - is right here. He is near to me now, and His love is demolishing fear's destruction.

O Heavenly Father, Your perfect love casts out my every fear. I praise Thee! I shall forever give Thee my wholehearted worship!

Walk By Faith

Walk By Faith:

"For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7)

This day, yes this very day today, I must recall all of God's marvellous faithfulness. I mustn't forget the countless ways He's shown Himself faithful, the mind-blowing confirmations that always make me giddy with gratitude, and His pure and unfailing love. I must recall His lovingkindness for me which knows no end.

"the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah)...is meant] for all who believe." (Romans 3:22)

Personal trust is available through walking in constant communion with a personal Lord. Our God does not play the "one size fits all" game; He gets deep into our hearts and speaks specific words for specific needs. He cares, and therefore, He takes action to ensure we have a solid faith foundation. What a marvellous Lord He is indeed!

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

So, in following the theme of faith and trust, today is the day to let the wonderful truth of God's unending faithfulness soak in deep into your very own heart and soul. He's not going to abandon us, and neither will He ever forsake us.

When we step out and begin to truly trust in Him and trust all that He has personally revealed to us, He provides even more goodness and grace. If we stumble and fall, He picks us up, brushes off the dust, and sets us on the path to peace and blessings. He never condemns or shames His beloved children.

Hallelu Yah, our Lord is so good! Our Lord, He deserves unceasing praise! Father, we approach You in faith, knowing Your favour is gracing over us. There's no condemnation here in Your Presence, and there's no need for timidity or fear. Your love and mercy are always here, so we choose this day to walk by faith! Amen!

Live in Faith

Live in Faith:

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23)

What does it means to live in faith? How can I give God my thanks and praise? By honouring Him with obedience and trusting faith!

"He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much." (Luke 16:10)

God blesses obedience and delights in our trusting surrender, therefore we ought to be vigilant and excited to obey Him. This means we take the leap into the unknown territory of reckless obedience. This formula of faith says NO to fear and YES to living a life of dependence on God's faithfulness and not our own understandings or strengths.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5)

"And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You." (Psalms 9:10)

You're not going to trick me or deceive me. Your heart is pure and full of mercy. You cover me with goodness and unending grace. O Lord, my Lord, how marvellously majestic You are. How I love Thee!

"Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." (2 Peter 1:2-3)

Oh thank You, my Saviour! Thank You for the freedom to fully live in faith. Thank You for the redemption that has made me new. Thank You, Jesus! There are endless blessing for which I give You praise!

Today, I choose to shove worry and anxiety right out of the way. Today is the day to begin a journey of trust, faith, freedom, and abundant blessings with You. I know You've just been waiting for me to make the choice to dive into Your incredible, merciful ocean of grace. So here I am and there You are, faithfully for me and continually with me.

Everlasting Love

Everlasting Love:

"the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." (Jeremiah 31:3)

Lord, Your promises are true and trustworthy. Your love for me never runs out, and Your mercies never run dry. Your continual faithfulness gives me faith to continue.

"For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations." (Psalms 100:5)

Your arms are spread wide to embrace me, faults and all. You take care of me, and all of my concerns are held in Your mighty hands. You carry me through, and You relieve my wearied soul from trudging the weight of these brutal burdens.

"Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully." (1 Peter 5:7)

Your love, O Lord, is watching over me at all times and for all time. You'll never leave my side, nor will You ever remove Your dearly devoted grace from me. Hallelujah, I will always rejoice in the wonder of Your everlasting love!

Today is a Beautiful Day

Today is a Beautiful Day:

"This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalms 118:24)

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." (James 1:17)

Awake, oh wearied soul within me, awake. Rise up and take hold of the hands stretched out before you. The Lord your God is watching over you. The Mighty One who is strong and merciful is clearing the path ahead.

His grace is sweeping over everything this day. Everyday contains inexpressibly forgiving compassion. The future is unknown to us, but one thing is for sure, it's all completely in His care. He knows the plan, He makes a way, and His goodness adorns the entire route.

"For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

"For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him." (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10)

In life, in death, Jesus reigns over all. He directs the beautiful orchestra of this life. The wind and waves crash together in heavenly harmony. O Lord, You are more beautiful than my words could ever describe. It's in You I do forever abide.

"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)

O Lord Jesus, You're preparing a place for me. You are readying my forever home. In the course of my time here on this earth however, You are also leading me with gracious blessings above and beyond all I can think. You are the Great I Am!

How marvellous are all Your works, Father. Your glory is prevalent throughout all the earth, and oh my, how beautiful is Your glory indeed. This day has been beautiful, and it's all because of the brilliance of Your Presence.

Nothing I Could do to Lose You

Nothing I Could do to Lose You:

"I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you." (Jeremiah 31:3)

Everlasting love graces the waves of mercy which crash over my troubled soul. Your love is never ending. From the first moment of conception, You called me out by name and flooded me with love. You'll never stop or withhold Your love. Your love is a relentless rushing river that cannot be tamed or cut off.

"God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!" (Jeremiah 31:3 MSG)

In the course of my life, many people have walked out on me. Time and time again, humans become angry and perturbed, building up walls of bitter resentment and strife. The fallen condition of our flesh creates fickle feelings of frustration and friction. But You, O Lord, You are patient, pure, and persevering.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4, 7)

You're always patient with me, Father. You've never stomped Your feet at me and crossed Your arms in fuming dispute. Rather, You're always ready to invite me into Your arms of grace, love, mercy, and truth. You have called me into Your family, and You've bestowed upon me the honour of being Your own.

"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!" (1 John 3:1)

I am prone to perverseness, as humanity confines me in its poisonous prison. But despite my inadequacies, You still display Your divine love. Your amazing love and mercy stretch far and wide over the barren wasteland of my sorry soul. You take my emptiness and fill me with the fullness of Your goodness and grace. In You I'm made whole, and I'm made new.

"Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more" (Romans 5:20)

"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." (Romans 6:14)

The law that hindered me and put up a blockade, keeping me from the Throne of Mercy, has been torn down by the power released on Your Cross of victory. No longer must I fear Your "reactions" to my mistakes or any adverse repercussions, for now there's only grace. Grace covers over all. From the minute mess-ups to the monumental manipulative sins I commit, Your grace is fully sufficient.

"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

I rejoice in the truth, and the truth is there's nothing I could ever do that could take me away from You. Nothing separates. Not even the darkest, most detrimental wrongdoings of my past have any power to constrain the immense power of Your unending love.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

O Heavenly Father, how marvellous is Your mercy! How all consuming is the warming, life-igniting fire of Your faithful love! I praise You! I am leaning on You alone, my Lord. Only You are the One who carries me through this life, regardless of all my filthy sins. I give to You this offering of never-ceasing thanks.

This, however, is not nearly enough, for it is just a mere scratch off the surface of the great depths of gratitude woven in my heart. I lift up these hands and say, "Thank You my Lord! You're the One for me! You're the only One I need!"

The Beauty and Wonder of Grace

The Beauty and Wonder of Grace:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins" (Ephesians 2:1)

Before I came to You, I was lost and empty. Before Your miraculous mercy remade me, I was drowning in sinful darkness. You came to me in all my filthy shame, and Your grace has made me alive - anew.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Newness, complete newness. This is how You have reformed me; You have transformed me. I stand here with lifted hands, surrendering my all to Your loving, caring, and trustworthy arms.

"Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." (Psalms 55:22)

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

You will care for the things I care about. You will carry the burdens which wear me down so relentlessly. When I step out onto the waters and into Your embrace, I will never drown. You are here, You've always been here with me, and I'm confident Your Presence will follow me forever, wherever I go.

"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." (Genesis 28:15)

"And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Be not dismayed and have no fear, for You are with me. You're leading the way, and You are fighting for me. You are for me. Your goodness and mercy intercede on my behalf. How amazing! Your faithfulness always endures, even when I fail to have courage and step out. You're patient with me, oh how incredible is Your patience, Father. I will gird my spirit and anchor myself in Thee.

Everyday is a journey in Your joyous grace. Your grace, O God, overwhelms my soul. I am overcome by the tidal wave of awe and adoration when I dwell on Your marvellous mercy. How undeserving I am, yet how gracious You are.

Hallelu Ya! It's because of Your amazing grace that my soul cannot help but sing Your praises. Hallelu Ya! Forever I will worship You, O Lord!

Taking the First Step

Taking the First Step:

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!" (Psalms 34:8)

You're calling me, O Heavenly Father, to run full speed ahead into the fullness of Your goodness. What is there for me to fear? That You've lured me into treacherous trickery? That You've promised things You won't deliver? Certainly not! You are not a man of feeble flesh and bones. You are the the Great I AM, and You will never deceive me.

"God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19)

When You speak to me, I can take hold of Your words and tuck them away into my heart. But don't let me just shove them into the corner of my heart, Lord, but do draw me out of the fear-cushioned comfort zone and into the remarkable realm of Your promises.

I want to jump free of these chains of doubt. I don't want to live suffocated by the cold and gruelling grip of fear. Lord, give me Your grace, for I know I am unable to live freely if I'm apart from You.

"But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”" (Matthew 19:26)

That promise. That promise alone is enough to secure my skittering soul. I know that on my own I will fail, but when I place all things in Your hands, O God, You will take care of every one. You are taking care of me, and I am becoming free. Praise Thee, O Heavenly Father, I give You praise!

Fear Has to Leave

Fear Has to Leave:

"For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”" (Romans 8:15)

Abba, Father! My spirit within me wails to be consoled. I plead for peace. My heart is overwhelmed, but I confess that fear must leave. Anxiety tries to overthrow me, but I whisper, "The Lord is with me wherever I go."

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

You are upholding me, Lord. You won't allow the destructive distresses to destroy me. Though I am exhausted and beat, You come to me and carry me through the raging seas.

I'm choosing to trust. I'm trusting You and all You've revealed to me this day. I'm choosing to rest. I'm resting in the truth of Your promises today. There's nothing to fear, because Your love has come near. I know You will never lead me astray. I am certain that Your faithfulness will endure forever. Selah.

Be Still and Know

Be Still and Know:

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalms 46:10)

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Some days, there's not much you can say. Some days, most days, the only things you need are His Word, His Presence, and His promises.

When the world around me is out of my control, it's my weakness to turn to my own ideas to restore peace into the situation. However, I am not able. I am not strong enough to carry the burdens that weigh me down and thieve my joy. I must surrender; I must hand over the fear to the Father.

He whispers to me, "Be still. Be at rest. Hold your peace, not in your own feeble and frail two hands, but by transferring the troubles into My hands. I am strong, and I will strengthen your soul. I am for you, and I will never forsake you. I am fighting for you."

"Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today... The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." (Exodus 14:13-14)

Be still. Be still, and know. Know that He is right here. Know that He is working all my fearfulness, fright, pain, and sorrow for something greater. He is greater, and all He does in and through and FOR me is great. I can trust; I can surrender. He won't betray me; He won't dismay me. Be still, be still, oh my soul.

Today is the Day

Today is the Day:

"This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalms 118:24)

This day, this Monday morning, I will choose to look upon His goodness and grace. Though the entropy of another busy day threatens to corrode on my joy, I know I am safe and secure in the arms of my Father.

"Also with the lute I will praise You— And Your faithfulness, O my God! To You I will sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, And my soul, which You have redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long" (Psalms 71:22-24)

Your righteousness overwhelms me with reverence. Your faithfulness invites me into surrender. I know that You're for me and not against me, and I'll boldly confess this truth day and night.

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

So faith is a choice, and I'm choosing to make the leap into His trustworthy arms. Today I'm running into His loving embrace. Today is the day! Today is the day to live in His provision, peace, grace, favour, mercy, and unending love without any hindrance of fear or doubt.

Abandon anxiety, and wave worry goodbye. Let the Lord of lords usher you into the realm of His wondrous blessings. Let Him hold you closely today, and whisper His peaceful promises in your ear.

Oh, Heavenly Father, we praise You. We praise You this day, and for all of eternity we shall lift our voices higher and higher to bring You glory. Today is the start of a new journey of trust, hope, and joy. We know that You will never leave us, nor will You ever forsake us. Therefore, we drop the chains of doubt and disbelief which the enemy has hurled on us, and we RUN with endurance and eager expectation. We're expectant to see Your gentle heart, and we're excited for all that begins with our decision to trust and surrender. Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord!

It Is Written

It Is Written:

"As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus," (Romans 3:10, 20, 23-24)

Not one of us is righteous. Not a single one is capable of earning forgiveness and redemption. ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's magnificent glory. It is only through the power of God's grace that we find freedom from our fleshly binds.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

He is faithful and just, and we have been justified through faith in Christ the Messiah. If we confess our sins, that is, if we contritely repent of our unrighteousness and admit to our helplessness in that we are incapable of saving ourselves, His mercy comes rushing like a mighty river of love that washes over us. He has made us completely new with His transformative love and favour.

It is written. His mercies never fail. His goodness endures for all eternity. Each day presents new opportunities to experience His divine love and graciousness.

"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Today, remember His goodness. Remember what is written and promised in His Word. His grace, mercy, love, and justice never cease. He is with us and for us throughout all ages and for all of eternity. Hallelu Yah! We praise You, O Heavenly Father!

Forever.

Forever:

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17:3)

True life is knowing You, Father. Living life to the full is only achievable when my life is lived in fellowship with You. You're my constant Companion, my Friend forever, and my joyous Lover. I'm only truly alive when I'm living in Your Presence.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

This gift You have given amazes me. I lower my head and raise my hands. With heart surrendered, I hand You my life and plea, "Create in me, O Lord, a heart that's pure. Make me alive in You forevermore."

This is what it's like to be truly alive - living each day with the God of the universe by my side. He is with me, yes He is with me in this disorderly day. With tomorrow looming up ahead, I can safely and confidently declare that He will too be there.

Yesterday is covered over in floods of grace, and tomorrow is completely in His hands. Yes! The mighty hands of the Creator are holding my tomorrows. He holds my forever, and He holds me forever. I have no need for fear nor doubt, for my Lord has it ALL figured out.

Forever? Lord, that's in Your hands. Eternity? That's where You're taking me. Fear has to leave, because Your love has cast it out. Forever is held only in Your wondrous and miraculous hands. Forever I am Your own, and forever I will praise You for all Your goodness. I entrust my own self into Thine hands, and eternity to You, the Great Divine One. Forever and ever, I will be Yours.

Fear Not.

Fear Not:

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

Fear... not? In a world where everything appears to be falling apart at its seams, the Lord commands me to have no fear? But Lord, I plead, where is there peace when all is erupting with violent fear flames?

"Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff — they comfort me." (Psalms 23:4)

Because You are with me, Lord, that is how I'll discover peace. Because Your hand leads me beside the still waters, my soul shall daily be refreshed. You are my Comforter, my Shelter in every storm, and my Divine Helper.

"And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true One. We are in the true One — that is, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." (1 John 5:20)

Life everlasting, joy never ending, promises persevering, and love never failing. These are just a few of the strong and sure stones which make up our firm foundation of faith.

Fear is futile and destructive. God only desires what's best for us. Therefore, when we surrender to Him, we can be certain that only what is good and joy-inducing will come into fruition. When we have faith in His faithfulness, then we shall see His goodness multiply!

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

"For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome." (Jeremiah 29:11)

This is why we must choose not to let fear invade. Fear steals the joy, peace, and hope that the Holy One plants in us. Fear destroys and deceives. Fear is not from God, and that's enough to know it has nothing we should want.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

Love is lavishing our easily anxious souls. Peace is penetrating our troubled thoughts with thoughts of true hope. The One who was and is and is to come is whispering to us, "Come to Me, and I will give your burdened soul a place to rest. Come and receive My promises, for there is no deceit in Me. I have only goodness in store for you."

Fear not. Fear is from the enemy. Freedom. Freedom is from Christ. Because of Jesus, the Atoning Sacrifice for our redemption, we have received freedom - including freedom from fear.

Fear, you have no place here, for my Saviour has dispelled you. Anxiety, you must leave, for the Lord my God has set me free.

I am wholly Yours, God, and You have filled my heart with joy and love. I needn't fear tomorrow's threats, or even yesterday's regrets, for You've got me. You have covered me with grace, and given me a sure confidence in all that You are. Fear not. Fear not. You have never let me down before, and I know that only more goodness awaits.

Joy.

Joy:

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

"These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." (John 15:11)

From day one, You've beckoned me on. From the start, You have cheered for me, rooted for me, and fought victoriously for me. This is Who You are. You are Sovereign, yet intimate to me. You are more than my words could ever write, for my understanding and comprehension is simply too elementary and limited to grasp and behold the entirety of Your wonder.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)

The mystery of Your majesty makes me complete. My spirit is filled and my soul satisfied in You, oh only You.

"Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (James 1:4)

I'm never missing one thing needed. No, not one good thing have You removed from me, for You ARE good and Your Presence goes with me wherever I go. You're the goodness which overflows in my heart, You're my joy in this journey, to the end and from start.

"rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer" (Romans 12:12)

"But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves." (John 17:13)

The joy of the Lord is not simply supplied for a moment, but fulfilled for eternity - delivering an unending and sacred joy. No thing and no one can steal this joy away.

"Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you." (John 16:22)

Situations can be sorrowful, but in Jesus there's joy that endures - joy that sustains any saddened soul. I have no need to grip worldly "fulfilment" when Christ is my Cornerstone.

So, though there may be chaos surrounding, within me there's joy abounding.

"I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation." (2 Corinthians 7:4)

"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." (Psalms 16:11)

You show me the path of life - full of exceeding joy and pleasures forevermore. Though I fear the obstacles and treacherous terrain ahead, You call me into Your mighty embrace. In You, I'm safe. In You, nothing is impossible.

In this time, I must take root. I believe that even when it storms relentlessly, Your grace and favour cover me undeservingly. I know that no matter the darkness around me, Your joy is still here. Your joy will never depart from my soul. This is all I need to know today; all I need right now, and all I'll need forever.

When Fear Attacks, I Take it to Him

When Fear Attacks, I Take it to Him:

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

Fear not, He consoles us. Fear not, He is with us. He will strengthen and embolden our hearts to anchor onto Him in these wild and raging seas. When fear attacks, we can be sheltered and protected securely in Him.

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’" (Psalm 91:1-2)

This week is shrouded in fear threats. When plans become obstructed and strewn off their original course, the all too familiar foe of fear comes fatally fierce in battle. But I have a choice to make.

Trust. I will choose to trust. I will take all of these sorrows and fears, and lay them at the Throne of Mercy. O Lord, how blessed it is to lay down every care, knowing Your favour, grace, and love are always there.

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

You care about my cares. You display peaceful prudence for each one of my pressing problems, because You truly care for the things that I give to you.

Surrender opens the door to abundance and peace. When I take all the burdens off of my own shoulders and set them at the foot of the Cross, God sees my trusting act of obedient surrender and He blesses that!

"Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." (Psalms 55:22)

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

This acronym I've coined in the picture above came about to be a reminder for myself whenever I began to feel a panic attack arising. The first time I received it, it was as though the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, "Grab hold of the FAITH you have in your Mighty God! The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear! He's given you a spirit of power, love, and of a sound mind, so kick out that fear! When the fear begins to attack you, take it straight to Him!"

So now, whenever Fear Attacks, I Take it to my Heavenly Father. F.A.I.T.H! That's FAITH!

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7)

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

I'm holding onto what I know is true. I know that Your purpose is pure, Your heart is kind, and Your favour is unfathomably great. You are glorious and marvellous, and Your mercy endures even in my darkest hour.

I lay it at Your feet, O Lord. Everything. All these concerns, every one of my fears, I know You can care for each and every one of them. I needn't carry them on my own, so today I choose to have FAITH in Your never ending faithfulness!

Just Breathe

Just Breathe:

"Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows" (Isaiah 53:4)

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

I carried your sorrows and your pain, now let Me carry your frail and fragile body through this rough terrain. I'm here for you, dear child of Mine, I am always near.

"The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

Hush, precious one, for I long to soothe your strained soul. Cease your striving, for My love has accomplished all you need. Rest in Me. Come and let yourself be refreshed by the Living Waters of grace and favour which flow freely from My heart and over you.

"Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." (1 John 3:2)

Quiet down, O soul. The Lord your God has done all to save and bless you, so give Him your all out of trusting gratitude. Be obedient to His gentle, peaceable call on your heart. Fall into His arms today, and know the truth He's writing on the walls of your very own soul.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah" (Psalms 46:10-11)

The Lord is with me, so fret not and simply breathe. Just breathe in His grace, and breathe out His praise. He is worthy to be exalted, and He will surely be exalted by every tongue. Hallelu Yah! Praise Thee, O Heavenly Father!

Hush, my disquieted soul, for the Lord has got me. He'll never let me go. He's never going to let me fall. Hallelu Yah. I can rest in rejuvenating tranquility, because the Lord is with me. He's got me today; He's carrying me now.

Have Faith

Have Faith:

"Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds." (Psalm 36:5)

As my eyes open on this Monday morning, it's easy for my focus to be fiercely fixed on fearfulness. Instead, I choose to fix my focus on all His faithfulness. I know this week will have its challenges and difficulties, but if I'll just draw back, back into this moment right NOW, I can see that He is here in the midst of me. His Presence hasn't left my side.

Now, if I look back, not to see regret or shame, but to see that He has been faithful in EVERYTHING, then I'll find courage and hope. Ever since the start of this journey, He's been nothing but faithful, loving, and filled with mercy.

"He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield." (Psalms 91:4)

You covered me in gracious faithfulness then, and I feel it now, You're still protecting me. What about the near (and even distant) future? Your unending love and unfailing faithfulness shall still shield me unyieldingly. This I know for sure, Your faithfulness endures forever.

"For His faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Hallelujah!" (Psalms 117:2)

Hallelujah indeed! So I know there's grace cloaking this daunting week ahead. I know that God's in every moment, and His grace will be my comfort.

His love will lead me through this unknown territory. No matter what the fogginess appears like from where I stand today, God will always, always clear the way!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

All in all, God has a perfect plan in store. If I tried to rely on only what I can plan, I'd be in a world of trouble! I would be so ridden with fear, worry, panic, and resentment. But with God directing my steps, showing me the path to take, I can have perfect peace, hope, and gentle, forgiving kindness.

Lastly, I know that just because I abandon my white-knuckling, controlling tendencies, doesn't mean the worst is going to happen. In fact, it opens up the way for just the opposite. When I release fear and hand everything I hold dear over to the Lord, He's going to simply WOW me.

He delights in us, and His heart is moved when we place the things we cherish into His hands rather than gripping them in our own possessive hands. This is an act of true, trusting worship.

When we place these things into His hands, we're saying, "Father, I can't carry this on my own two shoulders. I need Your divine help. I need You to come right here into this very situation, and take care of this for me. I trust that Your faithfulness is enough, Your faithfulness is strong, and You're for me! You are on my side, so there's no need for me to fear Your heart. Your heart is moved by my trusting surrender."

"And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You." (Psalms 9:10)

I am seeking You, O Heavenly Father. I am turning my eyes away from the temptations, the fears, and the lies. I'm fixating my focus on You and Your faithfulness. I place my trust firmly in You, for I know You will never trick me or lead me astray. Your faithfulness endures throughout all circumstances. I have nothing to fear, because You're here and You're working on my behalf. I trust YOU.

Alive With Hope

Alive With Hope:

"Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed." (Isaiah 49:23)

"Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame." (Isaiah 50:7)

I rise, early in the morning, and turn my face towards Thee. I lift up empty hands, and wait for You to fill me. This day I will obey Your trustworthy commands, for I know that I'm safe in Your loving hands.

"Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness And has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord And rely upon his God." (Isaiah 50:10)

Lord, this lovely morning I pray to You. I ask of You, Heavenly Father, to be with me in all circumstances. Lord, lead me into the way in which You're calling me. Light the path that is stretched ahead, and help me not to fear the steps that must be taken. I know with You, I won't be shaken.

"I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken." (Psalm 16:8)

My eyes this day I turn towards You. I know Your every word is true. My hope is set, so I shan't fret. Now, there's nothing I lack, and I'm not turning back. Lord, I'm placing all at Your feet, knowing every need You'll meet.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

Deep breath... Now say it, "Worry and fear have no place here. In my God I will abide, under His wings is where I hide. His love in me will radiate, for nothing could ever separate!"

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

Oh, Heavenly Father, hear Your children. We cry out in joyous, trusting songs of praise to You, the Holy One. We lift our feeble hands in an act of surrender. We know that all we'll ever need is in You, and You're the only One that will satisfy our hungry souls.

You're the One that encourages us. You're the reason we have this hope which anchors our souls.

"This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil" (Hebrews 6:19)

Our hope is rooted and grounded in You, in Your Presence, and in Your promises. We turn to You, and we run this race with a certain hope and peace, knowing that the day is coming. The day when we'll see You face to Face is swiftly approaching, and we're invigorated by this excitement!

Hallelu Yah! We have eternal hope and joy in Christ our Saviour! His goodness never ends, and His grace knows no bounds. Hallelu Yah! Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!

Obey, Serve, and Love

Obey, Serve, and Love:

"You shall walk after the Lord your God and [reverently] fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and cling to Him." (Deuteronomy 13:4)

Mighty Refuge, Sovereign Saviour, this is our Lord. Holy One, Great Redeemer, He is our King. Passionate Lover, Atoning Sacrifice, the One who gave it all. We bow down in awestruck adoration, O Heavenly Father, we lay all at Your feet.

Obedience is an act of trusting surrender. When we lift our hands to the Heavens and confess from the depths of our soul our desperation for Him, He hears every word. He never turns His ear away from us, but always has His heart opened up to pour the goodness of His pure character out on us.

Lord God Almighty, I know You are for me. You have opened up the path of peace before me, and cleared the way to casting my cares upon You. I see the immense measures You have taken to show me that You're for me and not against me.

The beginning of a life of serving You with overflowing gratefulness begins here, right in my own heart. I must first make the choice to comply with consecrated obedience. After all, You have indeed shown me that I can trust you completely. In You, there is absolutely no deception or trickery. You are pure, holy, and worthy of my trust. Here is all of me, God. Take me into the remarkable realm of Your unending abundance.

"Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you." (1 Samuel 12:24)

To obey means to serve You with all my heart, and to serve You means to obey You with trusting confidence. You are delighted when I depend upon Your strength and rely on Your unending mercy. It pleases You when I lift my hands, palms spread out wide facing You, saying, "Take me! All I am is Yours! All I need is You, and my ultimate desire is to be with You. Come and fill me with more of You, Father."

When I submit my will to obey and serve, I am filled. I am a vessel, empty without You. But when I am a submitted vessel, I become filled with all goodness and righteousness from You, Lord. You make me whole inside. You transform my broken heart into a work of art. You fill the empty soul up to overflow. You are wonderfully marvellous, O God!

"Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work." (2 Timothy 2:21)

Now I am filled! I am overflowing with joyfulness, righteousness, and love. Love so uncontainable, I cannot help but overflow this love from God onto others too. And isn't this His purpose? To be filled and bring others to the Wellspring to be filled as well?

"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." (John 15:8)

"And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (Colossians 3:16)

Let's join together as one, and glorify the Lord together. Let us encourage one another to be obedient to the specific and personal calls God has laid on each and every one of us. Together we serve Him as a passionate people, zealous to shine His Light into all the darkness of this world. Lastly, let's agree to love one another as Christ has demonstrated His love towards us.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." (John 13:34)

May you go through this day with constant consciousness of the wonderful wellspring of Love God is pouring into your very own heart. Let the waters flow! Let them burst and flood, and let that Love lavish you, your family, and everyone you encounter. God delights over us! He loves to see our joy! So, my friends, go in peace and joy today and everyday!
