Live Wisely Live Fearlessly

Live Wisely Live Fearlessly:

"Pray that I will proclaim this message clearly and fearlessly as I should. Be wise when you engage with those outside the faith community; make the most of every moment and every encounter." (Colossians 4:4-5)

Set sail! Let the refreshing breeze of God's love whisk away every trace of fear. Surrender your ship, and allow your vessel to be wholly His. Let Him splash His grace-rich glory all over you. Don't drop an anxious anchor and stand still, too afraid to live courageously. You're not ruled by those fears any longer! His love has cleared away those tyrannical forces and given you a new name - calledfreechosenhealedstrong, and cherished.

So what are we so scared of? What can anything in this life take away from us? Hasn't He promised? Won't He stay true to His Word? Everything we'll ever need and all the dreams planted deep inside our hearts? Secured. All is safe in the hands of the Lord.

His goodness never fails, and His faithfulness never expires. Forever. He is the God of forever. So how do we represent this fantastic gift? How do we make sure we don't go Home alone? Forsake the lifestyle of fear, and pursue the freedom of faith!

Live so joyfully unafraid, that when others look at you, they can't help but smile and want to know the "secret" to your uncontainable joy. Don't let worry paralyze you, but rather, surrender control to the God who makes you whole. He works all things for good, and His timing is always impeccable. He has a plan. Will you trust Him?

Won't you take a leap of faith with me? Let's live wisely by living worry-free. Let's take every opportunity we're given to shine with freedomradiate His love, and spread His Light.

Grace Amazing Grace Unending

Grace Amazing Grace Unending:

"...then He will have mercy on you and bring you back from captivity. He’ll gather you from all the peoples you’ve been scattered among." (Deuteronomy 30:3)

God never forsakes His faithful promises. He made a covenant with Abraham, and promised to be faithful for ALL generations. Because we are descendants of Abraham (we are the people of God), God will always accept our repentance and our turning back to Him - our dedicating of everything we are to Him - heart, mind, soul, and body. He is a gracious and forgiving God, and because Jesus ransomed us, we are now forgiven and cleansed for all eternity. His grace poured out on the Cross will never lessen - never stop flowing into the depths of our desperation. Grace so amazing, we're covered and redeemed. Nothing can take us away. Not even death has his say. Grace will last 'till the Final Day.

Surrender the Adventure

Surrender the Adventure:

The week looms mysteriously before me. Adventure awaits, and fear takes his place. The thief wants desperately to take the joy of what's ahead, but God, I know You're there. You're in my future, my past, my here and now. There's nothing I can't do when I go with You. There's not one fear too big that Your love and gracious mercy can't sweep away. So as the week comes, let Your love lead. As my future unfolds, let me live it boldly with fearless faith in Your goodness. Let the winds blow through my hair, the water rush over my toes, and the light glimmer on my face. I know Your Presence is shining upon me. I know You're here with me now, and You're not leaving. So let the week and all its uncharted adventure arrive, for I know You're my strong and generous Guide. I know I will more than survive. I will live and I will thrive. I glow with Your glory and Your grace, for this heart and this soul always seek Your face. I'm read for all You've got, God. I'm read to see what the future holds, because I trust that I'm held in Your hands and You're never letting go.

--> Sunday vibes = surrendered lives. <--

"So don’t be afraid. I am here, with you; don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, help you. I am here with My right hand to make right and to hold you up. After all, it is I, the Eternal One your God, who has hold of your right hand, Who whispers in your ear, “Don’t be afraid. I will help you.”" (Isaiah 41:10,13)

Goodbye May, hello June! What a marvellous month you've been, but I'm ready for the new to begin. May has been a month best described as the first few miles of a marathon. Starting a new adventure. It's scary at first, but the key is to make sure you don't deviate your focus. Christ within, Heaven ahead, there joy abounds. May was the start of a brand new life for me. The entire month resonated with the sound of chains *smack* crashing down to the ground. Oh what a beautiful sound... He cut those chains off me, and now I'm free. I'm free from everything that once paralyzed me with fear, and it's all because my gracious Saviour heard my cry. He came and He rescued me. When my life had hit a DEAD END, God had a better plan. His BEST plan.

--> Redemption. Renewal. Restoration. <--

There's nothing He can't do. This new life exists to exalt Him. This healed heart beats to bring Him honour. These whole lungs breath to shout His praises, and these strong feet run into His promises.

(!) NEVER FORGET: There's always hope, because God never gives up on us. <-- Would you believe? Would you believe He can cut YOU from your chains too? There's so much more life on the other side.

--> Faith frees and fear flees. <--

This can be your song too! Would you believe? Would you believe that THIS year, THIS month, THIS very day can be your BEST year, BEST month, and BEST day ever? God can do that. God can ignite an inextinguishable joy in your heart too.

• June? Let's call you the month of joy. Join me? Join me in singing, delighting, and truly LIVING this life from the Lord with ALL we've got - holding nothing back? He's got us. We're under HIS control. We can live and not look back. Never look back. God is before us, and His face is the Light that leads us Home. So let's run this race! Let's live this life! Ready? Set? GO! #JoyfulJune

Losing a Best Friend

Losing a Best Friend:

"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you His peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all." (2 Thessalonians 3:16)

Two years ago this day, I had to say goodbye to one of my best friends. May 31, 2013 Heaven gained the most loyal, loving, and gentle canine. I grew up with Guinness, and didn't know what life would be like without my soft, cuddly best friend. Prayer and puppy loving could fix even the toughest of days. Guinness was an angel of a dog, sent straight from God's heart. Everyone who ever met him will agree, he is unforgettable. Guinness will be in our hearts forever. I'm eternally grateful to have lived so many years of my life with him.

I am also grateful we opened our hearts again to expand our family and welcome a new member, Klaus. Klaus, our second schnauzer, was adopted on January 1, 2014. It's so nice to have furry friends who we can hold dear to our hearts. How generous and kind is our God, that He would give us more than we could ever imagine - including our animals.

"Good people take care of their animals, but even the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel." (Proverbs 12:10)

~Lord, thank You for the gift of sweet, tender animals. Thank You for allowing us to have dominion over Your creatures, to care for them, tend to them, respect, and love them. Thank You for giving this world such beautiful, elegant life. Thank You for all Your many, over-abundant blessings. May the beauty of Your creation and the wonder of Your works only serve to turn us toward You, lift our eyes to You, and draw our hearts closer to Yours. We adore You, great almighty Lord. We praise You, and we thank You. You're so good, God. You're always good, and You're always faithful. In Your Name we pray, amen.

The Light In My Heart

The Light In My Heart:

"But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted." (1 Peter 2:9-10 MSG)

Darkness and despair surrounded me everywhere, but then came grace, my life to spare. He came in like a flood, cleansed me with His blood. He gave me His promise, that I'll never be lifeless. He breathed in my heart, gave me a new start. Now this life, free from strife, forever changed and rearranged, shall always praise His great Name. In His Light I remain, His promises I claim, and shameful sin is slain. A heart this full can't help but extol. My joy overflows, and my spirit glows. Oh Heavenly Father, thank You for shining in my darkness, and giving me a fresh start again.

I Found My Life When I Laid it Down

I Found My Life When I Laid it Down:

"So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet." (James 4:7-10 MSG)

Life is tough, and oftentimes we find ourselves in the midst of certain circumstances that are unbearably trying. When times get so hard and hurtful, we tend to question or even doubt God's love and faithfulness. If this is you today, allow me to encourage you - God has a supreme and sovereign plan for your good and His glory! (See Romans 8:28). He takes each chapter of our lives, every single little detail, and He binds it all together into the most beautiful book.

Every season of our lives has purpose and meaning. God composes each song - each life - with intent, and every note resounds from the depths of His heart of love. We can trust Him wholly. He won't ever disappoint us.

In my own personal walk with God, I've slowly come to the revelation of releasing. And by that I mean, letting go of everything I once so tightly gripped with fearful-fists, and laying all down at His feet. When I surrender all and lay the absolute entirety of my everything down, that's my way of saying, "God I worship You for all that You are. I worship You with my submissive surrender. I praise You with my wholehearted trust. I receive all You have for me, and I believe all Your ways are good and pure."

In surrendering, I discovered more of His heart, more of His power, more of His peace, and more of His splendour. There truly is none like our God. Right when everything seems to be crumbling to pieces, He turns every last particle around to build something completely brand new and unlike ever before.

Only our God is able to take the dust of our fallen walls and make something so beautiful out of these lives of ashes. I found my life when I laid it down before Him. Will you trust Him with yours?

Be Energetic In God

Be Energetic In God:

"[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight." (Philippians 2:13 AMP)

Keep going. God's plan is worth obeying. There's so much more to this life than struggling through. God doesn't want you to merely survive. He wants you to glow, shine, and radiate His life and energy. He will give you that energy and joy, if you'll simply obey and trust Him. His energy will sustain you. His energy will overflow in you, giving you that "future you hope for" as mentioned in Jeremiah 29:11. Obedience is worth it. That joy will be worth it. Recovering is worth it. His energy will be worth it. Trust, my dear. Trust, and follow His way. He won't leave you. He won't forsake you. He is good, and He is kind. Leave all your fear behind.

Hope in Christ - Verse Meditation

Hope in Christ - Verse Meditation:

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life." (Proverbs 13:12)

Secure your hope solely in Him, for only He can satisfy out longing hearts. We hunger for a hope that doesn't disappoint, and this pure form of hope is only found in Christ our Lord. Let's pursue Him this day and everyday. Let's run after Him. Let's anchor our hope in Him, and run with endurance the race He's set for each one of us. He is good. He is marvellous. He is glorious. He is our everything. Amen.

We Are Forgiven

We Are Forgiven:

"Who is a God like You, Who forgives iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retains not His anger forever, because He delights in mercy and loving-kindness. He will again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." (Micah 7:18-19 AMP)

O Heavenly Father, there truly is none like You. You're so gracious, so merciful and true. You deal justly with us, yet You deal tenderly with us too. You have exchanged our records of grime and guilt for the pure, blameless record of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

Because Jesus lived the perfect life, I don't have to. Because Jesus died the ultimate death that satisfied Your wrath towards sin's horrendous filth, I am forgiven and freed. I am no longer held to that debt. I'm not expected to pay even a fraction of that enormous price. Jesus, You paid it all. You have cleansed me with Your healing, redeeming blood. You are our ransom, our atonement, and our joyful hope.

Because of God's great and immeasurable love for us, You humbled Yourself to a servant's position - the lowest of lows. You took the beating and shaming that should've been on us. By Your great grace, we're cut free from the chains of our old life of sin and darkness. Now we walk in glorious lightlife, and the beautiful righteousness of Christ. Nothing hinders the magnificent magnitude of our forgiveness in You, because nothing hinders the unending, unfailing, glory of Your perfect love. We're made completely new creations in You, and we are one-hundred-percent forgiven and free!

All Your Ways Are Good

All Your Ways are Good:

"Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19)

God is working in our lives each and every moment. We must have faith that He only has the best planned for us, for He loves us unconditionally. All He plans for our lives stems from His unfathomably rich love and kindness. Even the dry seasons can and will overflow with abundant riches, because Christ paid the price.

"For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied)." (2 Corinthians 8:9 AMP)

Through Christ's strength and endurance, we can overcome any and every obstacle this world throws our way. He enriches our weak hearts with hope, joy, and life. Through His grace and power within us, we're able to spring up with renewed life like wildflowers bursting through the rocks that try to conceal their vibrancy. Joy prevails. God's grace and goodness always win. All God's ways are good and pure. We can trust Him and run bravely into the future He has for us.

God, we trust You. We trust that all Your ways are good and pure and hopeful. Breathe Your glorious, overcoming life in us this day, O Lord. Have Your way in us! It's in Your mighty Name we pray, amen.

Rest in His Faithfulness

Rest In His Faithfulness:

Sick days are a great ("great") reminder that it's OKAY to take a day off. God had been nudging me lately, saying, "I don't expect you to perform for Me. Simply be. Be who I made you to be, and that's Mine. I don't put all these rules and regulations on you. Throw them off, and come to the Waters. Come and drink from the flow of My Living Waters, and I will give you rest and restoration."

Lesson learned? Don't drive yourself into the wall with an attitude that screams, "Do! Perform! Earn!" Instead, listen to the gentle voice of the Holy One, whispering, "Be. Rest. Receive."

--->He doesn't drive us like cattle, He leads us like sheep.<---

Celebrate Baptism

Celebrate Baptism:

"If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuouslycleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]." (1 John 1:9 AMP)

He is faithful. When we repent, He remakes us. We are new creations (see 2 Corinthians 5:17), and we are created to live in the current of His unrelenting grace. One such manifestation of this undeniably, overwhelmingly miraculous grace is the forgiveness He offers to us through Christ's sacrifice.

And baptism? Baptism is like our graduation announcements. We make the public proclamation - the start of a life of beautiful newness. It's unlike anything we've ever ventured into before, but a completely welcomed and long anticipated season of renewal and opportunity. This is who we are now - we're people of God. How incredible it is to be called His! All He has planned for us will come to pass, because He sees that we've let the walls down and invited His Spirit to come and dwell within.

Because Christ's blood has washed us from all iniquity, we're cleansed and clothed in righteousness. And baptism is the celebration of this new identity. It's the decision to leave behind the sorrowful, sinful past and dive into the deepest depths of all God's glorious grace and goodness.

"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." (Isaiah 61:10 AMP)

New lifeNew hope. It's all found in Christ. Celebrate baptism today! We are cleansed by the precious Blood of the Lamb of God, our souls are saved by His supernatural Salvation, and truly we have every reason to have a celebration!

Hallelujah! I'm Alive!

Hallelujah! I'm ALIVE!

"I call out at the top of my lungs, “GOD! Answer! I’ll do whatever You say.” I called to You, “Save me so I can carry out all Your instructions.” I was up before sunrise, crying for help, hoping for a word from You. I stayed awake all night, prayerfully pondering Your promise. In Your love, listen to me; in Your justice, GOD, keep me alive. As those out to get me come closer and closer, they go farther and farther from the truth You reveal; But You’re the closest of all to me, GOD, and all Your judgments true. I’ve known all along from the evidence of Your words that You meant them to last forever." (Psalm 119:145-152 MSG)

I'll do whatever You say, my God. I'll leap with faith into the great unknown, wherever You instruct me to go. You saved my life from death - again! You saved me and remade me once more. You redeemed this dying life for so much more than merely sitting and waiting to arrive Home. You've given me purpose to walk in all Your ways for me. In Your justice and great grace, You kept me alive. So, God, keep me fully alive. Completelyenergetically, and, joyfully ALIVE!

It's Your Presence that sustains me. You're the closest of all to me, Lord. You've never left my side and You never will - not even for a moment. You are faithful to remain beside me - You never leave me alone and lost. You will never stab me in the back or forsake me in my weaknesses. You're my Gracious Healer, and You bind me to Your heart of mercy. I can faithfully place my everything at Your feet, knowing You will care for all the details of my life.

Your Word endures forever, and there's not a single force to be found that could ever diminish Your divine power. You're the God of great and immeasurable mercies. You rule with compassionate authority. Your justice is good and all Your judgements are pure.

I praise You and seek You with all my heart, O God. You alone are the King of kings. You're the Lord of my life and the Saviour of my soul. I give You everything, and I give You control. Take all of me, and make me who I'm made to be!

I Live to Love You Lord

I Live to Love You Lord:

"For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him." (2 Corinthians 5:7-9)

I just want to live for You, God. I want to live my life, not to gain the approval of others, but to please and to serve You, my Gracious King. I want to see Your Will be done. It's so hard living in this fallen world, but I know You've put me here - in this city and in this season - for a reason. In surrendering trust, I put aside all pride and joyfully proclaim, "Have Your way in me, O Lord! All I am is Yours!"

Christ the Eucharist

Christ the Eucharist:

"Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight." (Luke 24:30-31)

When we humble ourselves in thanks, honouring His Sacrifice, His Presence shows up and removes the blinders from our eyes. When we gather under His Name, as the Body of Christ, and glorify Him together, His Spirit envelopes us in God's wonder. His Presence is made manifest among us. And it's in that sacred moment that we all as believers remember that only by grace through faith are we saved. We're reminded of our desperation, our insufficiency... His abounding love, His unending mercy... Christ be glorified! For He has rescued us, redeemed us, and made us new creations by the power of His holy blood!

-The Introverted Evangelist

God Understands

God Understands:

"He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!" (Psalms 147:3-5)

The world and all its troubles are pressing hard upon your shoulders. The dark storm clouds seem as though they'll never clear away. The ache you feel within grows deeper and deeper still, yet His love shall never be removed. No, His love for us will never be weakened. God sees every wounded soul and every broken heart, and He understands. His understanding is far beyond our comprehension. He sees the hurt we feel, and He's been there too.

"It’s obvious, of course, that he didn’t go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed." (Hebrews 2:16-18 MSG)

No matter what you're facing today, keep this truth at the forefront of your mind: God understands, and He's not going to abandon you. You haven't failed HimYou haven't let Him down. Simply let your walls down, let His Presence envelope you, and embrace this time of letting Him rejoice over you. It takes no efforts on our part but the fight for surrender... Surrender and release... Release all into His hands. He won't let us downnor will He ever let us go. He is good. He is faithful. He will carry us through. He is with us still.

-The Introverted Evangelist

Jesus Our Risen King

Jesus Our Risen King:

"Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live; And whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26 AMP)

We're free because Jesus lives! We serve a living, breathing, personal Lord. He conquered the grave, and now it's His life within those who receive and believe that gives us the strength and courage to truly live. We're called to lead by example in this glorious freedom. Drop your chains! Pick up your cross with joy! Knowing that it's when we lay down our lives that we truly find the reason to live with no fear, no resentment, and no shame. Jesus. Jesus is the reason. He is the Resurrection. He calls our cold dead hearts back to life again - beating passionately for God's purposes. He is the Life - abundant, unhindered life of overflowing blessings and peace. Let's cling to Him this day. O sing praise to the Lord Jesus Christ! He has given us all we need, all we could ever desire, and more - and it's all found in Him. Hallelujah! Praise Jesus, our risen King!

Happy Easter Sunday to you all! I like to call this day Resurrection Sunday as well as Salvation Sunday. There's so much to celebrate this beautiful Sunday morning! May you be lead out in peace and praising this day.

Victorious Love and Saving Grace

Victorious Love and Saving Grace:

"For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." (John 3:16 AMP)

Love, not law, has won. Grace, not guilt, is the gift of Salvation that saves us all. Faith, not fear, is what flourishes life everlasting. The immense love of the Father is our eternal victory. There is hope for all ages, triumph for every nation, and healing for each soul, because in Him we're made whole. Salvation's spelled out in blood-stained agony there on the Cross. It seemed like hope was lost, but it's from the darkest grave He rose again in glorious light.

"But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:4-7)

We don't have to live this life afraid! We have an eternal promise of tomorrow - a Home and Hope that cannot be deteriorated. We're secure in His love, lead out by His faithfulness, and guided by His grace. Nothing can hold us back now; we're walking out our orders from the King of Kindness and Mercy. We're ready to radically LOVE (see 1 Peter 4:8)!

"But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the centre of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!" (Jude 1:20-21 MSG)

Take a moment to just breathe that in... This is our everyday (and forevermore) reality! This gracious goodness lavished upon us undeserving, filthy, stained sinners has completely done away with all our old putrescence. No longer are we festering in sinful destruction, rotting away more and more each day from the abhorrent habits that used to consume us. Now we have stepped into His light. We now lead a new life. But really, it's not us who lead it, it's Him - the Holy One. We now walk this road in righteous robes, clothed in His splendour and Salvation. We can sing a new song, for the life He has won, lasts for all eternity long.

Thank You Jesus! We praise and honour You for the immeasurable sacrifice You gave to cleanse us, restore us, and give us a future of unimaginable hope! Thank You that even though this life is so uncertain and full of fear evoking contingencies, Your love will lead us through. You're the shining star of bright eternal light, and You will faithfully lead us through the darkest night.

Yes, life is uncertain, but God remains the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. His love lasts throughout all eternity, and His grace is readily available in our time of need - all we must do is receive.

Good Friday Morning Meditation

Good Friday Morning Meditation:

Tea and Bible reading. It really doesn't get much better than that. I love how even the tea bags couldn't help but praise the One who gave it all.

"Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing." (Ephesians 2:7-10 MSG)

More Good Friday meditation coming later today. I am so in awe of all He's done for us. What a selfless sacrifice! Our Humble King is worthy to be praised! He has won the INFINITE VICTORY through His EVERLASTING GRACE! Hallelujah!

Take Heart

Take Heart:

"And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.”" (Matthew 9:2)

Take heart. Don't let your past paralyze you. Don't listen to the lies that say your mistakes are who you are. Remember that the Blood of Jesus has made you new (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). His atoning sacrifice cleanses us from all unrighteousness. We don't have to live the way we used to. The grace of our generous Lord gives us inner strength to break old habits and create a life of newness, rooted and founded in Christ Jesus. His Holy Spirit comes and floods us. His Presence washes over us like the waves of the ocean's tide... Washing away the shame of our old self, and replenishing our strength with His mercy. Take heart, He is for us. Take heart, we are new creations. Take heart, for He is good and worthy of our trust and praise. Thank You, Lord for making us new in Your redeeming love.

Diligent Dependence

Diligent Dependence:

"So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then." (1 Peter 1:14)

If I even begin to glance back at the place out of which I've come (that deep, dark detriment), I've already fallen... The key to decidedly demolishing my destructive addictions is to diligently depend on my divine Saviour.

No turning back. This is the new. This is living now. All for Him. My everything laid down, so I won't turn around. I'm committed to Christ, and this is my life. This is who I am now - completely His, and complete in Him.

Release and Receive

Release and Receive:

"My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble. Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to life." (Proverbs 4:10-13)

Come, dear child, come receive My grace and strength for your every need - your every weakness. I will carry you to a new beginning. I, your Great Redeemer, can restore to you the joy of living life unhindered. No longer will your muscles ache and body cry out - dying and wasting away. I will prosper you, I promise you. Trust Me. Walk with Me. Come take hold of My gracious gifts. I withhold no good thing from you. Therefore, you're free to abandon all that you try to control in your own strength... Release and receive... I have an amazing plan for you. Your trusting obedience is the key that unlocks the door to these never ending blessings. Trust Me, for I am on your team and I will never fail you.

Rise Up and Pray

Rise Up and Pray:

"At last he stood up again and returned to the disciples, only to find them asleep, exhausted from grief. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.”" (Luke 22:45-46)

Don't give in to all the grief. Rise up and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit! Don't become so worn and weary from the battles surrounding you that you throw in the towel and call it quits. Instead, call on God! Pray relentlessly because He's not left your side. His ear is still tuned to your cry. He's not going to stop fighting for you. Be still, call upon His Name, then you will receive peace, joy, and a renewed hope once again. This battle may not be over yet, but I can assure you: the victory is already won and we are triumphant!

Jesus - Δουλος - Humble Servant

Jesus - Δουλος - Humble Servant:

"You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross." (Philippians 2:5-8)

I love how the Holy Spirit kept the theme of Pastor Spurling's message at Gateway Church this weekend. I opened up my MacBook to see this... Jesus Christ... Humble Servant. The Greek word written here is δουλος and it is translated "slave" in the verse above.

How marvellous! Jesus took on the humble position of a slave so that we might become free. In fact, right now as I type, I'm wearing my Walk in Love shirt that reads: I AM SET FREE.

Thank You, Jesus! Thank You for Your obedience even to death on the Cross. Because of Your sacrifice, I'm no longer held in bondage. If it weren't for Your atonement, I would be lost and my life nothing but a sorrowful memory. But You have redeemed me. You have cleansed me of all my former unrighteousness, and You've given me a new life with true hope. Nothing can take away from Your gift, O Holy Saviour.

Thank You Jesus, Divine Humble Servant, we shall forever praise You! Be exalted! Be exalted O King of Heaven! Our voices ring with Your praises... All for Your glory... All because of Your sacrifice. Thank You Jesus.
